Answers:

Answer 1 - Your hair replacement will look 100% natural. The hair replacement will be the correct colour and texture to blend in with your own hair. Once fitted the hair replacement will be skilfully cut and styled to the agreed style and look fantastic.

Answer 2 - As your hair replacement was made using a mould of the shape of your head, it will fit perfectly, there should be absolutely no discomfort at all. Then of course as the actual hair used is real and matched to your own texture, your hair replacement will be exactly like or better than your own grown hair.

Answer  3 - The price of the hair replacement is determined by the type of base used, the overall density of the hair and the desired length. This will be made completely clear at your consultation, there will be no hidden extras. We will also cover all future monetary and time commitments you may come to expect..

Answer 4 - At first you will probably need to learn how to look after the hair replacement and become accustomed to it, there for the first fitting I would probably suggest 3-4 Weeks. However future fittings, or services as they are sometimes called, largely depend on your type of skin (whether it is excessively oily or not) and of course your aftercare and lifestyle. Generally many clients seem to average 6 weeks between services.

Answer 5 - The cost of removing the hair replacement, cleansing and any treatments required. Then preparing the scalp and applying any treatments required for the health of the scalp will currently be £80. This price will include colouring the unit as and when necessary.

Answer 6 - If you only have 1 hair replacement and neither your hair or the hair replacement requires colouring, the appointment should be for one and a half hours. However once you are happy with your first hair replacement. In an ideal world you would have two, 1 left at the clinic so we can take our time being gentle with it colouring and or leaving treatments on for some considerable time. Then it is ready for the "turnaround" where you can make your appointment for service for 1 hour, if your own hair does not require colouring at this time.

Answer 7 - The choice of your colour is entirely up to you. As long as we can continue to match it to your hair replacements. This can be changed within certain limits, and executed whenever necessary.

Answer 8 - The choice is completely yours, fringe, no fringe long, short, height on top, flat, curly, straight. At your consultation we will discuss together and go through each and every option available to you. Absolutely every area will be covered until you are completely comfortable.

Answer 9 - Absolutely, in fact you are extremely lucky, we can match exactly the curl, you can then either style your hair straight, or use some styling products if necessary and either diffuse or leave to dry naturally.

Answer 10 - There are several ways:

  1. 1. With clips, although this seems precarious, it is effective and you have the choice to pop it on as and when you want.
  2. With double sided tape, again this allows you a certain amount of freedom away from the salon appointments. The tape will need changing every few days.
  3. Micro pointing. This method is extremely secure, the hair replacement system is attached around the perimeter with small amounts of the clients hair pulled through the hair replacement and secured down with tiny amounts of glue. The hair replacement system will require servicing approximately every 4 weeks. This appointment will take about 1 hour, then every other appointment the hair replacement system will require complete removal, for your scalp to receive a thorough check. Then reapplied, this time the appointment will take approximately 2 hours if no hair colouring is required.
  4. Perimeter bonding, this system of fixing in my opinion is by far the best. It is the most natural looking and completely undetectable to touch and sight. At the same time it is healthy in that a surgical glue is used but only around the perimeter of the hair replacement unit, allowing the scalp within to breath naturally. This system of adhesion will last approximately 4-7 weeks. For emergencies you can carry a tiny phial of the adhesive and a cotton bud for securing should you need to. Really as I do for my acrylic nails should one break! Do not be put of by this it is the best most natural looking and feeling way to fix your hair replacement on whilst containing the hair loss within the area of the hair replacement. Some other ways of fixing outside the hair loss site can often cause traction alopecia thus enlarging the hair loss. Now for the cost and we are not talking money. The cost to have this fantastic natural look is that you are required to shave the area of where the hair replacement is to be adhered to. That is about one inch around the edge. Yes most people do resist this at first and perhaps start with micro pointing, how ever the positive facts far out weigh the negatives and I happily find most clients progress to this hassle free way of having the hair they could only dream of, affording you complete freedom to swim, holiday exercise in fact carry on your life as you would with your own natural hair. Of course without the hours of styling required spreading and placing then anchoring with lacquer every hair in place.

Answer 11 - As talked about earlier, a hair replacement system should only be offered when there is no chance of natural growth, as in Androgenetic Alopecia. Then if the hair replacement is kept within the hair loss site and not moving beyond that site to secure, then no, a hair replacement system cannot damage your own hair. However should you go outside that site for fixing, traction alopecia can over a lengthy period of time develop, causing the original hair loss site to enlarge.

Answer 12 - Of course all you have read by now must show you that a hair replacement will give you complete comfort, confidence and freedom to enjoy your life, literally what ever your pursuits.

Answer 13 - There is no reason why you should. However, should you be there are many different ways we can secure the hair replacement, so one way or another will be sure to suit your needs. We will also carry out skin tests prior to any purchase of hair replacement. As a matter of interest on sensitivity. I have one client who is in her late eighty’s whose skin is really thin and she has the perimeter bonding method She is also riddled with arthritis. She does not really do much apart from visiting family and going to her grand children’s school plays etc. there for her hair really does not get dirty. We tend to leave the hair replacement until it is almost ready to come off and then she comes to the salon to have her hair shampooed to help the hair ease off naturally therefore protecting her skin. This method has worked extremely well for this lady for the past 8 years. In fact her hair replacement can remain securely in situ for up to 12 weeks. This is an unusual case.

Answer 14 - Definitely yes as long as your hair is long enough. Some clients actually grow their hair whilst waiting for their hair replacement to arrive. Take a look at Jackie’s - she looks fabulous doesn’t she?

Answer 15 - Well how long is a piece of string? This will all depend on your home care. It is helpful towards the longevity if one owns 2 hair replacement units, one on the head and one being gently cleansed and timely treatments used. For some 2 years is realistic for others 6 months to 1 year. Probably a fair average is 1 year.

Answer 16 - Yes the hair replacement is real hair. However if the hair replacement requires some grey hair, the best way to add the grey hair is with fibre. The reason for this is, in the summer the hair replacement systems often fade in colour, just like our own hair. There for the hair often requires colouring at these times. Now if you colour the hair replacement you cannot avoid colouring the grey hair. If however the grey hair is fibre this will never colour but remain grey.

Answer 17 - Yes you can. You will treat the hair replacement as you would your own hair, use a heat protection product then continue with straightening irons or which ever styling tools you choose to use.

Answer 18 - There is no reason for your friends to know, if we choose the colour length and density correctly. If all the sudden you turn up with hair 6 times thicker than before, they will notice something odd if not different. This is where we need to be a bit skilful and perhaps start with a lesser density hair replacement initially

Answer 19 - I would suggest your service is a few days before the wedding to give you the best security possible. Obviously this type of wear will really be testing. You should not have a problem. However, for added security and peace of mind I would suggest you take your little phial of surgical glue and cotton bud, as an insurance for "touch ups", should you require.

Answer 20 - Oh dear...I can imagine how you must dread that. Please don’t worry any more. We have a private clinic within the salon. Our team are all very discreet and everything can be performed on a one to one basis, if that makes you feel more comfortable. Anyway. 100% no you will never be in public view for your service or treatments.

Answer 21 - Absolutely not. Never would we pressure anyone to "go public", however should you be happy to we do offer a discount off your first hair replacement.

I think we have covered as many situations as possible. Should you have any more questions please do not hesitate to ask.
