Questions & Answers Specifically For Chemotherapy, Trichotillomania and
Alopecia Areata
These conditions I have put together as they are temporary hair loss conditions and
will involve similar hair addition treatments that are completely safe for your
existing hair and future hair growth.
Questions:
Question 1 - Will your hair additions treatment be suitable for
me. I have lost most of my hair and have 2 more chemotherapy sessions left to go?
Question 2 - I am not sure what you do, please explain.
Question 3 - I do not want anyone to notice my hair. Can I have
the same style that my own hair was pre chemotherapy?
Question 4 - Will you be able to match the colour of my own
hair? I have Trichotillomania, I have pulled all the hair out from below ear level and
want to keep the same colour.
Question 5 - Do I have to take this hair off at night?
Question 6 - Is the hair that you use real hair?
Question 7 - How do I wash my new hair?
Question 8 - Will my own hair still be able to grow?
Question 9 - How much does the treatment cost?
Question 10 - Can I wear my hair up with this type of hair
additions?
Question 11 - Will I have to buy special shampoos?
Answers:
Answer 1 - Actually no, not for perhaps 6-8 weeks after the
completion of your chemotherapy. Your scalp is likely to be extremely sensitive for a
few weeks, also a tiny amount of hair growth is required to attach the hair safely to.
During and immediately after treatment a wig will be more comfortable.
Answer 2 - Several options are available, your situation is
unique therefore all will be made clear at your consultation.
Answer 3 - Yes, we can create any style of your choice. It is
always helpful to bring photographs of your hair, pre treatment, with you to the
consultation appointment.
Answer 4 - Yes, the beauty of the system I use is the hair
comes in all possible shades. Also, another advantage of this system is that I can
cover the whole scalp if required, or just the odd area what ever the size.
At this stage please refer to pictures of Sam, Stephanie, Anneka, Kerry, Naomi and Jane. Take note of their conditions.
Answer 5 - Absolutely not, in fact this system can stay in
tact between 4 and 14 weeks, depending on your home care.
Answer 6 - Yes, I do use real human hair. Thus enabling
freedom to style, using the styling tools of your choice, whilst maintaining a
completely natural look.
Answer 7 - Whilst extra care must be taken, during your
appointment your aftercare procedures will be covered thoroughly, until you feel
confident to maintain your new hair your self.
Answer 8 - Yes, after much research and years of experience I
came up with this system for Chemotherapy, Trichotillomania and Alopecia Areata as
these are temporary hair loss conditions and priority must be not to weaken the
already fragile hair or inhibit future growth.
Answer 9 - I am only able to give prices at consultation, as
pricing is determined by amount type and length of hair used, plus amount of time
taken.
Answer 10 - Yes you can.
Answer 11 - Yes, the type of hair and fixing will determine
which products to use.
I do hope I have covered most questions you may have.
If you require further information prior to your consultation, please do not
hesitate to call.
